Unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and the government will be upon his shoulder! - Isaiah 9:6

Jill Southern-Jones, NETS Director
Dear all,
What a wonderful gift from God to each one of us – Jesus came in the flesh as a baby, truly the Son of God and truly the Son of Man. This was the only way Grace could come to sinners, the Word becoming flesh. Christmas had to come before Good Friday could. The world has hit the 7 billion mark and reports say that a quarter of them are Muslims who do not believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.
The days are becoming increasingly urgent around us with the Arab spring bringing violence on to the streets of some middle eastern countries, the European economic collapse of some member countries of the EU bringing the need for cut backs in finances and subsequent rioting on the streets as a back lash. In 2011 we have seen major earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan, floods, fires, wars in Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan and famines in Somalia, Niger and much of Africa. Surely we are heading for the end of the end times but the good news is that the government will be on his shoulder!
As you reflect over this Christmas time think about how is your life going to count? Are you getting prepared and equipped? Should you be seriously thinking about doing NETS? There has never been a more important time to be walking in the truth of God without compromise than now.
How much of Gods truth do you know? The scripture teaches us “to study to show ourselves approved unto God”. 2012 is a good time to start, the time could be short, the days are urgent and “the night comes when no man can work”.
Love came down at Christmas, the star, the angels, the shepherds “let us go even now unto Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass”. The wise men with their gifts. There has never been a more important time to celebrate the incarnation than now, you see there is no political solution for this worlds problems, there is no economic solution… Jesus Christ came into this world as a tiny baby to be the spotless lamb of God, that he alone could take away the sins of the world by dying on the cross and bringing us individually into salvation, grace and truth. What a message! 7 Billion people need to hear it, will you get equipped to take the message of the gospel of Jesus to the nations?
Have a happy and reflective Christmas.
