God’s Love Flows

As I walked around the base today in the spring sunshine, I felt this is a place where God’s love flows. There are greater things yet to come here, and greater things yet to happen. It is completely amazing that we have arrived at the welcoming of the 28th NETS School (starting next weekend). In fact, we have already welcomed a group of 9 Chinese trainees a week early for an induction to life at Pierrepont (and life in the UK!) before they are joined by those from across the world who are also eagerly anticipating the beginning of their life transforming NETS journey. We are expectant that God will do miraculous things and since each NETS has it’s own unique flavour, I am looking forward to see what will unfold.

Our young people’s team recently came back radiant from a three day retreat in Oxfordshire. This is the first time we have done this and it proved very successful. They all had a wonderful time and have returned with more of a passion for God and an excitement about serving at Pierrepont! It is encouraging to see that God is raising up a generation of young people who hunger after righteousness and we are blessed to have a great group of them here, many having come from far away lands to serve for a year or so.

The more time we spend with God, the more we get to know him and the more our lives change. I encouraged the team this week to have the compassionate love of Jesus in our hearts for all those who are going to come through the doors at Pierrepont for training, equipping and ministry in the coming months. We are not just called to teach truth, but to model it in our behaviour towards each other. In the early church it was said “see how they love each other!” – I pray that this will be evident whenever you visit Pierrepont and that you also will receive God’s love in a new way in the coming days and that it will flow out of you into the lives of the hurting and broken around you.

Winter MicroNETS is underway

People from all over the UK, Europe (and even one from the USA) are now settling in at Pierrepont after the first two days of our Winter MicroNETS course. MicroNETS is a 9 day taste of the NETS Training Programme and a course on which God has done a radical work in many lives since we started it in 2006.

It’s clear to see that they are having a good time and many are discovering life changing truth from God’s word. We hope to capture some incredible testimonies and get them online soon but for these people the adventure has only just begun!

Lost your way? Learn & Grow in 2011

We need to be sure of our calling and direction in life but often as Christians we have lost our way or don’t know our calling in life. These are difficult times to be unsure of what we are about or what we are meant to be doing.

I don’t know how you feel but it seems like all we ever hear is bad news and it never seems to get better. In the midst of all the bad news we need to know and understand how God is at work in the midst of the troubles.

The question for you at the beginning of 2011 is, are you prepared for the tests that are coming your way? Are you sure of your identity in Christ so that when trials come you will stand as that shining light Jesus promised His Church would be?

These are times where we cannot let fear and doubt and the cares of the world trap us, we need to be bold and move into all that God has for our lives.

Twice a year, we run a 9 day programme called MicroNETS. It’s coming up soon (5th – 13th February). MicroNETS is a key tool in the equipping of Christians for their destiny in Gods Kingdom and we desire to see you fulfill that destiny. We would love for you to be part of this program so please prayerfully consider this course as part of your growth in the Lord this year.

We know that everyone hasn’t got 6 to 12 months available to attend NETS but 2 weekends with 5 days in between is a possibility that everyone can manage. More importantly you get to experience a combination of training and ministry over the 9 days that has helped others who have attended to receive breakthroughs they have needed in their lives.

Christmas message from Jill Southern, Director of NETS

For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government shall be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting God, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

What an exciting time Christmas is as we are reminded of the message of the incarnation of Jesus Christ into the world, He who is truly God and truly man.  This is the time to give our heart to Him and to celebrate light coming into the world’s darkness.  It seems to me that there has never been a more urgent time in world history for the light to shine in the huge darkness which covers our earth, the darkness of corruption, abortion, knife crime, violence, abuse, and the massive financial greed that shouts to us from every newspaper.  The coming of Jesus Christ into our world and, then, into our hearts is the only solution.  There is no economic, political or financial solution.  The only solution is found in making Jesus Christ Saviour, Lord and God and to become a disciple of His, living our lives His way.

My prayer for each one of you this Christmas time is that you will embrace God’s unspeakable gift of love and move into a deeper yet, more intimate life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ.  In 2010, I pray that you will enter into the adventure of NETS.  This will be the greatest investment that you could make into your own life and future with God, to be trained and equipped to minister to the broken and the hurting and also to receive deep level healing for yourself.

Let us take God’s hand as we go into 2010 and allow Him to lead us into whatever the future holds into that place of safety which is the name of the Lord is a strong tower, and those who go into it are safe.  May God give you the true joy of this Christmas season as together we worship the Christ child.
